Intel® System Studio (ISS) 2016 for FreeBSD* provides a comprehensive embedded tool suite solution for developing, optimizing, tuning and deploying 64-bit system and application C, C++ code running natively on FreeBSD* host systems. This product release includes the following components:

  • Intel® C++ Compiler 2016 for FreeBSD* systems
  • Intel® VTune™ Amplifier 2016 for Systems for FreeBSD* Targets

Notes:

  • The Intel Compiler 2016 version for FreeBSD* is delivered as an archive as noted above in the contents section and needs to be extracted for product installation and usage. For instructions to install the product on the host FreeBSD* system, refer to the "Installation section" in the product release notes.

  • The Intel VTune Amplifier 2016 for Systems for FreeBSD* Targets requires you to have already installed the Intel VTune Amplifier on the host system such as Linux*, Windows* or OS X* respectively. The model used for FreeBSD* is the standard paradigm of collecting trace data on your FreeBSD* target and visualizing this data on the host system where you have installed VTune Amplifier.   For instructions on how to configure your FreeBSD target for remote collection and analysis, refer to “release_notes_amplifier_for_systems_2016_freebsd.pdf” file under “Target FreeBSD* Collection” section.

  • The release notes for the components can be found here.
